Departure
of a comrade causes great grief
Loss is
an understatement, meaner than an undergarment
Kiptum’s passing on
brought mortal torment
Pain a
petty word to talk of our befuddlement
It’s
hard to believe he’s gone
Courteous, caring and
charismatic were his qualities in life
Brave, bold his venerable
virtues in big battle with cardiac
All values in which we forever
fail to thrive
Engaging instead in needless
strife
It’s hard to believe he’s gone
Gentility
was his other name
He never
strove for fame
Effortlessly
nonetheless he earned the same
With
humility he always wafted this undying flame
How hard
it is to believe he’s gone
In our
hearts is left doom
Inside
our souls drilled are bores of gloom
Severer than
battery with a broom
Without
you ours is like a vacant dreadful room
It’s
hard to conjecture you are gone Kiptum
His tale is catchy, touchy this
Turk
A gent whose warmth was an
instant spark
Never did he wade in murk
His life path being pure white,
less a speck of black
Oh! It’s unbelievable gone he’s,
never to be back
Where
art thou, fellow collegians?
Let’s
don in sackcloth, put on ash
Roll on
the ground like a castoff moustache
Hasn’t
death been too harsh?
Isn’t it
hard to imagine he’s gone?
